Sweetness

This post is actually long overdue.  The events in the photos actually took place two weeks ago, but I forgot all about taking the pictures and never blogged.

One lovely Friday evening, after a particularly long & tiring week, Ben & I decided to stay at home and test out a new recipe.  I love to bake & recently discovered Bakerella.  Every single thing on her site looks delicious.  I’m so excited to try all of her different recipes!  This particular Friday in question, we went with her Oreo Truffles mainly because I haven’t had much experience making candy & this seemed simple enough for a first try.

First, we put the Oreos in a bag & crushed them up:

Then we smashed the Oreo crumbs & cream cheese together with a spoon:

& rolled each one into a yummy bite-sized ball:

And then we put them in the fridge to harden up and waited…

It's time to put the chocolate on?!

Finally, it was time to melt the chocolate & cover the balls of Oreo.  (No pictures of this because this part required both hands…correction, both of MY hands.  Covering with chocolate was not a Ben job.)

Then we quickly sprinkled some Oreo crumbs on the top before they dried and…

Ta-Da!

They were very delicious (especially when kept chilly in the fridge) so I think this is something we will definitely make in the future!
